Insert Foot in Mouth

People have noticed, figuratively speaking, that I am good at

putting my foot in my mouth.

Simone is quite good at putting her actual foot in her mouth and

she enjoys doing so regularly.

Surprising, Jen and I come pretty close too.

Bed Time

Simone is getting BIG. She has started eating
solid food, processed into porridge.
Avocado porridge,
banana porridge,
sweet potato porridge,
green bean porridge,
rice porridge,
out meal porridge,
squash porridge,
and pear porridge.

She slurps it all down and some times screams
for more. We often have to show her the
empty bowl to assure her that there is no more.

Simone has also gotten a little feisty. She didn't
want to go down for her nap and threw her
pacifier at her daycare provider in frustration.

The New Job

Sorry that it has been a while since I have posted anything substantial. Since I started my new job, it has been pretty busy around here.

I started with a group of 67 new officers in early July. The group is impressive—a broad range of ages, professions, languages, and work experiences are represented. The training itself has been excellent, the best that I have received from any organization so far.

zeal and dedication. We like to call it

Number 60!

We were back in Minnesota recently to help

celebrate my Mom's 60th Birthday.

It was a big affair with lots of local

lake folks as well as old friends from Moorhead,

even a Jazz band to set the mood.
