In June, Jen and I attended Brent’s wedding. He was in Kazakhstan with us in Karatau, a city an hour and a half away from Taraz. His new wife, Jen, is from British Columbia, thus the wedding was on Pender Island, two ferries off the coast of Vancouver.

This is us mid ferry ride, checking out the ocean and taking in the salty seawater smell.


We were one of the last cars on the ferry and almost missed it. Amazingly, we have been in Washington, DC for a year and this was our first time to the Ocean-- on the West coast.




The setting was truly beautiful. It was formerly a farm that has been converted into a small resort with winding paths to the ocean.






It was great to see Jenna, Matt, Brian and Troy, all former PCVs, many of whom we hadn't seen for three years.
