Auden is at the hospital tonight for an unexpected surgery. He was diagnosed with pyloric stenosis, a narrowing of the pylorus, which is the lower part of the stomach where food passes into the small intestine. The muscle in the pylorus is enlarged, preventing food from emptying out of the stomach and causing vomiting.
The surgeon was going to do the surgery today (11/21), but Auden’s electrolyte count, potassium level, and hydration were out of balance. He is receiving nourishment through an IV and will most likely have the operation on Saturday morning. It is a pretty common surgery and only takes around 20 minutes to complete, but he will still have to stay in the hospital for couple of days.
We will keep you posted.

Brent and I send our best to Auden and you both (and Simone too of course). Good to hear that the problem was caught and diagnosed and that the surgery is relatively light. Nevertheless, we'll be looking forward to reading of more Auden and Simone antics once he's out of hospital and feeling better. Get well soon Auden!
Love, Jen and Brent
Just read this today - sorry to hear Auden has been sick! Poor tiny little body! I hope all went very smoothly with the procedure and that he is recovering well at home. (He looks a lot in Jen in the top pic!)
Thinking of you - Lydia
